Houses reaching sale agreed in a record low time nationwide - REA survey By Caitriona Rooney Three-bedroomed semis are reaching sale agreed in a record low of two weeks after coming to market in some areas the Q1 REA Average House Price Index has found.
Fuelled by an unprecedented lack of supply, the average three bed semi is now reaching sale agreed after just five weeks on the market across the country – almost half the nine-week average this time last year.
Average house prices rose by almost 2% over the past three months, despite the absence of physical viewing, in a marketplace which is seeing the lowest supply and the shortest time taken to sell in recent history.
LMFM By Caitriona Rooney The price of the average second-hand three-bed semi in county Louth has increased by 4.9% to €212,500 in the last three months, according to a national survey by Real Estate Alliance.
Across the county, the average time taken to sell has reflected a national trend and fallen to three weeks from six between December and March, the Q1 REA Average House Price Index shows.
In Drogheda, average prices rose 2.3% to €220,000 this quarter, with time to sell remaining steady at four weeks.
“Demand is currently very strong. There is a low supply, but there are also a lot of vendors getting ready to sell,” said Darina Collins of REA O’Brien Collins, Drogheda.
LMFM By Kelly O Sullivan Make the most of the warm weather while you can!
We have been LOVING seeing the sun over the past few days and very much enjoying the warmer weather, however, things look to change next week as temperatures are forecast to hit freezing.
This weekend is due to remain warm and dry, but temperature could drop to -2 degrees on Sunday night as a cold and unsettled spell of weather moves in.
With the weather turning unsettled and much cooler from Easter Sunday, it may not be the time to switch to your summer wardrobe just yet!

It takes place in Eureka House in Kells on April 13 and 14, and is expected to generate huge interest online in the absence of physical viewings.
The Slane items include a large, red ‘Welcome Home’ banner, a Union flag and a Commodore’s flag from Royal St George Yacht Club in Dublin’s Dun Laoghaire, dating back to 1847.
