Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, technology has been saving our jobs and our sanity, but in Barcelona lockdowns have led to the revival of one of humanity’s simplest and most enduring inventions: the book.
The city’s booksellers are reporting a boom in sales and, against all odds, new bookshops have opened.
The latest of the new crop of shops is the Llibreria Byron, launched by the small academic publisher Huygens, which opened last month in the Sant Antoni area of the city.
