Centre is home to Brixton Immortals Dominoes Club and Brixton Soup Kitchen
A team led by Gbolade Design Studio has won a competition to redevelope the Lloyd Leon Community Centre.
The facility, formerly known as the Brixton Sports and Social Dominoes Club, was founded in the aftermath of the Brixton 1981 uprising.

The now grade II-listed building on Coldharbour Lane was gifted to the local community following the recommendations of the Lord Scarman report, which was commissioned following the riots.
It is now home to the Brixton Immortals Dominoes Club and the Brixton Soup Kitchen.

Gbolade Design Studio has won a competition to revamp Brixton’s Lloyd Leon Community Centre
The south London-based practice, working with Urban Symbiotics and Green Tea Architects , defeated four unnamed rival bidders to win the contest backed by local authority Lambeth Council.

Gbolade Design Studio will now complete a feasibility study looking at ways to revamp the Grade II-listed Coldharbour Lane landmark which was founded in the aftermath of the 1981 Brixton riots.
The community centre is currently home to the Brixton Immortals Dominoes Club and the Brixton Soup Kitchen. The local authority has recently been working with social enterprise The Ubele Initiative on a range of community outreach activities which highlighted a need to upgrade the centre.
