Construction work to begin soon on new Llangefni primary school

Construction work on Anglesey’s latest 21st century primary school will begin in the coming weeks. A turf cutting ceremony is set to take place on the site of the new Ysgol Corn Hir school, in Llangefni, on Friday, June 11 to officially mark the start of the project. The cost of the new school will be in the region of £10m; with funding provided by the Isle of Anglesey County Council and the Welsh Government’s 21st Century Schools and Colleges Programme. Anglesey’s School Modernisation Programme began in 2012. Its aim is to create the best possible educational environment for head teachers, teachers and children to succeed and thereby promote high standards.
