CONTROVERSIAL plans to build 35 homes at Adpar have been withdrawn. An outline application for residential development had been lodged with Ceredigion County Council for the 2.6 hectare Newcastle Emlyn site, on land opposite Parc Y Trap. It proposed seven affordable homes consisting of a range of two, three and four-bedroom properties proposed including eight terraces, 16 semi-detached and 11 detached houses. But the scheme has caused huge controversy in the village and strong opposition emerged, with more than 80 objections being lodged with Ceredigion planners, arguing the scheme was totally inappropriate and threatened to destroy the only remaining area of green space.
