Because at first there was some new language on the cdcs website, several days ago now, that led people to believe that this was spread through respiratory droplets, this coronavirus, which we know it is, but seemed to really downplay the idea that surfaces could also be a source of infection. They now have gone back and said, look, we understand now that that led to headlines basically suggesting that you dont need to worry about surfaces anymore.
