UK PM Liz Truss presided over the first cabinet meeting, announcing one of the UK’s most diverse council of ministers that includes ethnic minority members of Parliament. Her rival in the prime ministerial race, Rishi Sunak, missed the post in the cabinet.
Others in Truss's top team include close allies such as Therese Coffey as deputy prime minister and secretary of state for health and social care, and Kwasi Kwarteng as chancellor of the exchequer.
