AN Eden Valley couple have produced a short, wistful film to highlight the plight of Cumbria s disappearing wildflowers. Nigel and Lois Harbron of Kirkoswald decided during the first national lockdown to produce a four-minute long video called The Last Flower , to show why our native flora is disappearing at a worrying rate. The film gets off to a gentle start, showing some stunning photographs of wild flowers, such as Bee Orchid and Grass of Parnassus. Many of the images were captured on the Cumbria Wildlife Trust nature reserves where the Harbrons are Honorary Managers, and also at Smardale National Nature Reserve near Kirkby Stephen.
