Basingstoke Town Football Club BASINGSTOKE Town confirmed it has debts of around £73,000. The news comes as the club held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) last night - which also had the first competitive election in the club s history. Acting chairman Kevin White said that while there is debt of £73,000, this dates from 2017, and the club has not had to take on anymore to get through the coronavirus crisis.  He said: The £73,000 debt is from 2017 when the community club was in its infancy and still sits on our balance sheet.  We are currently under no pressure to repay this although we want to start repayments next year ideally because it is important that as the club grows and starts to put the firm roots down back in the town it is imperative that we repay those that showed faith in the club in the early days.
