Alabama lawyer joins investigation into Trump's involvement in Georgia election

Alabama lawyer joins investigation into Trump’s involvement in Georgia election Updated Apr 29, 2021; Facebook Share Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has appointed an Alabama lawyer to participate in an investigation into former President Donald Trump’s conduct following the 2020 election. Jack Sharman, a partner with Birmingham’s Lightfoot, Franklin & White, was appointed by Kemp’s executive order Wednesday. He will serve as special counsel to the Georgia Secretary of State’s office in an investigation by the Fulton County District Attorney. The investigation is currently focused on a call between Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. In a Jan. 2 telephone conversation, Trump argued that Raffensperger could change the certified results of the presidential election, an assertion the secretary of state firmly rejected.
