A new community meals project which aims to end food poverty has now launched in the city.
OSWEGO â SUNY Oswego senior graphic design major and entrepreneur Bobbierre âBobbieâ Heardâs creativity, ability to overcome obstacles and willingness to help others recently earned her a community Unsung Hero Award, presented Jan. 31 by Syracuse University.
Born premature at 26 weeks and 1 pound, 2 ounces, Heard said the doctor told her mother the baby was unlikely to survive. So the fact that Heard not only survived but thrived in starting and running her own clothing company, with a winning positive attitude, has made her an inspiration to many.
The founder or BREKY clothing, Heard was praised as âa ground-breaking graphic designer and a dynamic advocate for programs serving children with disabilitiesâ in the award release. Her premature birth led to cerebral palsy and she experiences seizures, which drives Heard to advocate for inclusivity for others, mainly children.

Stuart H. Lollis, of Edgartown, MA died peacefully on December 13 of kidney and respiratory failure. He was 78 years old.
Stuart was born on November 2, 1942, the oldest child of Shelton and Ruth Lollis. The son of an army officer, he had an exciting and varied childhood on military bases across the United States and around the world. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1964. Having completed Army ROTC, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant and volunteered for service in Vietnam. Upon returning home, Stuart received his MBA from Harvard Business School before beginning a career in marketing. He went on to start a business with his father, helping U.S. manufacturing firms to export their products abroad.
