Mzimba South district social welfare office says insufficient funding from the government is hampering its efforts to fight gender based violence as cases are still on the rise in the district.
District Social Welfare Officer Bernard Nangwale said his office receives a monthly allocation of 200, 000 kwacha which is not adequate.
Nangwale made the remarks during a district level commemoration of the 16 days of activism against gender based violence on Thursday under the theme, End gender based violence: Prevent, Report, Respond and Fund.
