CM approves agri varsity for Swat

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has approved the master plan to establish an agriculture university in Swat and ordered the officials to start work on the cost and PC-1 of the project.
He said this while presiding over a meeting on the establishment of the University of Agriculture Swat here at Chief Minister’s House Peshawar on Thursday, said an official handout.
KP Minister for Agriculture & Livestock Mohibullah Khan, administrative secretaries and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
The chief minister said the PC-1 should be presented before the competent forum for a formal approval by mid- April.
Livestock vaccination drive going on in Kurram

KURRAM: The livestock department has launched a special drive to vaccinate over 0.3 million animals against various diseases caused by the winter cold in the Kurram tribal district. Dr Muhammad Siraj and Dr Zeenat Hussain said that livestock contracted various diseases due to severe cold in the winter. They said that some of the dangerous diseases of animals were contagious and spread to human beings as well.
On the special directives of Livestock Department Assistant Director Dr Attaullah Khan, they said that a vaccination campaign was launched to control the diseases, treat and provide free medicines to prevent the animals from the fatal diseases. They added that the vaccination drive was launched in all the tribal districts, including Kurram, following directives of provincial Minister for Livestock Mohibullah Khan and Director General Livestock Department Dr Alamzeb Khan. Minister inaugurates work on water project in Kurram

PARACHINAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Mohibullah Khan on Thursday inaugurated work on the Barani Dam project at Alizai in Kurram tribal district.
The project was launched under the Accelerated Development Programme at Alizai in lower Kurram. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the government was focusing on the development of agriculture and livestock sectors in merged districts.
“And a huge amount is being spent on the constructions of new dams, storage of rain’s water and bringing of barren land under cultivation,” the minister said.
