A large Live Oak tree is being removed from Olive Street in the Garden District. Neighbors who live near the tree are calling for a better process after they say their concerns resulted in drastic measures by the City-Parish.
A pruning endeavor is underway on streets throughout the Garden District in Baton Rouge. It s part of an effort to save the beloved Live Oak trees, which are a staple of the old neighborhood.

BATON ROUGE - There s work being done in the Garden District to help restore the Live Oak trees, but there s still a lot more work to do.
If you have driven through Baton Rouge s Garden District you have probably noticed the gorgeous tree-lined streets. Even though the trees are on city-parish medians, the Garden District Civic Association says it s up to the neighborhood to care for them.
