Colonial armor and most interestingly, a wheel lock pistol. It is an early pistol, it was like a clock, you cranked it up, and it would spin around and there was a piece that would fire it and the pistol itself was, you know, probably two and a half feet long, but we actually found the trigger guard and the dog which actually fires the piece right in the specific area near the redoud. So our initial reaction to was this was an early Spanish Colonial campsite that we didnt know anything about. But the weird thing about this area is it floods constantly. You can probably hear the water behind us. So for hundreds of years, theres been these massive floods. So instead of this strategic, you know, you have the 19th century, 18th century, 17th, its all mixed together. So well find, you know, bullet fragments from the 19th century with Spanish Colonial objects, so its really hard and especially for archaeologists to really disearn what happened here. And another theory is the utes camped here
