Tension grips Assam-Mizoram border, security tightened in both areas
The ongoing tension at the Assam-Mizoram border took a new shape after Assam alleged that Mizoram Police built a temporary shed at the area. Mizoram has claimed that the land where the police shed was built belonged to it.

Tension gripped the Assam-Mizoram border village of Gutguti following the construction of a temporary shed of police camp by the Mizoram police personnel, the Assam officials said.

Both the states claimed that the incident took place inside their territory on Friday night but no casualty was reported as the houses were empty.
While Assam put the blame on miscreants from Mizoram , the neighbouring state pointed the accusing finger at Bangladeshi immigrants who wanted to flare up the border dispute .
