If the pandemic situation continues to improve, June may be the last month of quarantine, Lithuanian Health Minister Arūnas Dulkys told reporters on Wednesday.
“If everything moves like it s moving now, let’s hope that June will be the last month when we will have the word ‘quarantine’,” he said, adding that the “extreme situation” would not end.
“This means that we will have to adhere to some rules, but not restrictions,” added Dulkys.
During a press conference on Wednesday, he said that the upcoming challenges would be on the level of the European Union as a whole.

Lithuania will begin offering vaccines to everyone aged 16 and above on May 31, Lithuanian Health Minister Arūnas Dulkys said on Thursday.
Until then, those aged 55 and above will be eligible for the jab starting from May 10, those aged 45 and over from May 17, and those aged 35 and over from May 24. Those aged between 16 and 18 years will only be vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine. Meanwhile, people already on the vaccination priority lists will be able to take the jab anytime.
A nationwide registration system will be launched on May 17. It will be possible to register by clicking on certain links on municipal websites and also on the Koronastop.lt website, said Dulkys.
