Following a failed appeal, convicted fraudster and former metro spin doctor Roland Williams is back behind bars after handing himself over to the clerk of the court on Wednesday.
It could be former Nelson Mandela Bay municipal spin doctor Roland Williams’ last weekend of freedom after he lost his appeal on Thursday to have his four-year suspended prison sentence deferred.
Though disgraced former Bay communications director Roland Williams has paid back the money owed to his insurance provider, which he defrauded, the state is adamant he should go back to jail. The prosecution argues that the payments made by the ex-spin doctor were done too late and that he should serve his effective four-year jail term for fraud.
