Since the Arizona Peace Officers Memorial was first dedicated in 1988, 388 names have been added to the eight double-sided panels surrounding the iconic bronze statue. Twenty-six of those names include officers who died in 2021.

The Martha’s Vineyard Commission opened a public hearing on modifications to a project at the Harbor View Hotel. The hotel is proposing several changes, most significant is construction of a 4,625 square foot spa.
The Martha’s Vineyard Commission approved renovations to the Mill House, began a public hearing for the Harbor View Hotel, and closed a public hearing on the Hob Knob Inn during a marathon three-hour meeting Thursday night.
The Harbor View Hotel began its public hearing for the relocation and expansion of a proposed spa at the hotel’s Bradley Cottage.
For the first time in his young life, Tanner, a 2-year-old shih tzu and yorkie mix of less than 10 pounds, was on his own. And he was lost in St. Johns County.
His owner, Rosalind Gordon, was injured in a fatal wreck on Interstate 95 on Dec. 31, just north of the Flagler County line. The wreck left her with a shattered leg.
Tanner was with Gordon in her vehicle. While he survived the wreck and was apparently unscathed, he ran away from officials in the aftermath and escaped.
It took several days and the help of strangers, including veteran volunteer dog rescuers, to find Tanner and bring him back home to South Carolina.
