reporter: anything with a plus sign. what can we expect today after yesterday s sell off? reporter: you know, i am surprised that stocks are up a bit, 30 points or so on the dow this morning given that our sell off yesterday made asia and europe panic. i thought for sure asia and europe sell off and panic was going to make us panic today. so far that hasn t happened. stocks are suddenly 15% below where they were at end of april. the sell after has been especially savage this month of august. we are past the 10% decline that marks a correction, right? so the question is is this the start of catastrophe? i think it s implausible. a bond trader told me yesterday, can we all just calm down. we ve seen a hedg a sell off by hedge funds. they are threatened over threat default in european recession in the u.s. and a slow down in asia. inflation, deflation, the u.s. credit downgrade. it s like marlon brando in the wild ones when the guy asks him, what are you protesting? you ask
