US President Joe Biden has so far appointed a record 52 Indian Americans in his administration but his highest-profile nominee, Neera Tanden, may go down in defeat because of her spicy Twitter rants against Republican senators. Since Tanden’s job as director of the Office of Budget and Management (OMB) requires Senate confirmation, her Twitter self-goals are set to deny her the very prize she worked towards as a policy wonk.
