ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) A pop-up charity event Saturday morning got people moving and grooving in Rochester. She Roars a local organization, held a cardio dance party at Cobb s Hill Park which raised money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Rochester. The group pairs mentors with children who are at-risk in the community.
Organizers tell News10NBC the money raised will be helpful, especially as they try to find more willing volunteers for their cause. It s wonderful to collaborate with such another community-minded agency and the Rochester area that s looking to give back and obviously the money, like you said, to support mentoring right here in our local communities, Big Brothers Big Sisters CEO Lisa Mattoon said.
