GLADSTONE In August, Tpr. Lisa Kanyuh, of the Michigan State Police Gladstone Post, started an investigation of animal cruelty involving several dog, and horses. In total, there were 69 puppies, 66 adult dogs and 18 horses that were seized from the residence in Rock.
After the animals were seized, it was found that several of the adults dogs were pregnant and had litters of puppies while at the Delta Animal Shelter. There were over 100 more puppies born while at the shelter in all, over 250 animals were rescued.

Macy was the first to deliver a litter after Michigan State Police seized animals from an alleged Upper Peninsula puppy mill in August. The top photo shows Macy with her puppies after a difficult labor two days after she was moved. The bottom photo shows Macy s improved health and mental state six weeks later. Delta Animal Shelter is now caring for 167 puppies and 65 dogs while the Delta County Prosecutor s Office reviews the case for possible criminal charges.Delta Animal Shelter
