André Simon Awards food and drink book shortlist announced 18 February 2021 By Phoebe French The André Simon Food and Drink Book Awards has announced this year’s shortlist in the 50th anniversary year of French writer André Simon’s death. Guided by independent assessors Lisa Markwell, the food editor of The Sunday Times, and restaurateur John Hoskins MW, the panel have whittled down their initial 22-strong longlist to a final 11 food and drink book nominees. André Simon Award announces drinks books longlist 21st December, 2020 by Rupert Millar The André Simon Food & Drink Book Awards has announced its first longlist – featuring books on wine from Bordeaux, Georgia, Australia and even another galaxy. The seven longlisted drinks books have been selected from a total of 170 that were submitted for both the food and wine categories. It is the first time that the awards have named a longlist, with André Simon Memorial Fund chairman, Nicholas Lander, saying that the judges had been “overwhelmed by the high quality of books this year”.
