The Columbus Dispatch
The United Way of Central Ohio will receive a $50,000 national grant and a $12,000 local grant from The Gannett Foundation for racial equity training in Franklin County.
The national award is one of seven at that level in the foundation s A Community Thrives program to support nonprofits in their efforts to improve the quality of life in their communities.
The $62,000 from the foundation, which is the philanthropic arm of Gannett, the parent company of The Dispatch, will support the Racial Equity Partnership, providing racial equity training and learning exchanges to staff, board members, volunteers, and clients of health and human service organizations throughout Franklin County, reaching 5,000 people.
