Shasta County school districts grant COVID bonuses to teachers

With the academic year coming to an end, Lisa Carlton reflected on what it was like to teach her students with the uncertainty the coronavirus pandemic cast over how schools would operate.
There were sleepless nights when she didn t know whether she would teach a class of kindergarteners in person or online.
Manzanita Elementary School started with a hybrid schedule and by last October, transitioned to a full-time in-person schedule with a distance learning option.
“It was all unknown at the beginning. Having students not show up to meetings because they really couldn’t was hard because I didn’t want anyone falling behind on my end,” Carlton said.

Seeing the family members you ve been kept apart from, sharing a cuddle with a loved-one and visiting the beauty spots that have been just out of reach.
These are just some of the things you are looking forward to doing once lockdown measures are finally eased.
It is then hoped, that if four crucial tests are met, that all restrictions will be able to be removed from this point and normal life can resume.
