The dark blue shirt said she had just gotten on the plane in Fort Lauderdale when the shootings happened. She says she didnt see anything, but people on her flight were made aware of what was going on before they took off. She says she was able to text her partner and family here in virginia. Reporter the suspect has be identified as Esteban Santiago ruiz. A official says he arrived with a gun checked in his bag, went into the bathroom to load it then started shooting. When we apprehended him the subject was arrested without incident. Eyewitness saw the gunman open fire. He was just randomly shooting. Like walking through the woods picking off things like target practice. Reporter passengers were streaming back inside when another panic broke out from a different direction. Problems. Those passengers, including some i spoke to on a jetblue flight sat at the gate for about two hours until their flight was canceled entirely. We got to gate, saw the news. We were still we still boarded the flight. We sat for about 45 minutes then they told us we would have 3 00 p. M. Departure. Around 3 00 they told us everybody deport the plane. Theyll give you more news at 4 00 and at 3 30 they just canceled the flight directly. Reporter those passengers were being rebooked to orlando. They hoped to be home by about 2 30 tomorrow morning.
