KILLEEN, Texas The City of Killeen s Recreation Services received a $5,900 donation from the Lions Club Foundation to help beautify Stewart Park and Lions Neighborhood Park, the city announced.
The funds will go toward placing trees at Stewart Park and planting flower beds at Lions Neighborhood Park.
Volunteers recently participated in a one-day community service project focused on installing a crushed granite trail and planting trees on Love Your Park Day, which was July 10.

The City of Killeen Recreation Services department received an almost six thousand dollar donation to enhance and improve two city parks.
The Lions Club Foundation made the $5,910 donation to help improve Stewart Park and Lions Neighborhood Park.
The funds will be used to place trees in Stewart Park and plant flower beds along the sidewalks of Lions Neighborhood Park.
Volunteers and residents also recently worked together on Love Your Park Day, July 10, to plant trees and install a crushed granite trail in Stewart Park for a one-day community service project.

This comes on the heels of Love Your Park Day, which was July 10. Volunteers worked from 8 a.m. at Stewart Park for a one-day community service project focused on planting trees. Volunteers had worked through the rain to plan over 20 trees along Stewart Parkâs trail.
The donated funds will go towards placing more trees at Stewart Park and planting flower beds at Lions Neighborhood Park.
