Lions SPUR Club of Texas Panhandle hosts disaster relief fundraiser

Officials with the Lions SPUR Club of the Texas Panhandle released information regarding its Spring Fling Disaster Relief fundraiser occurring at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Cornerstone Ranch Event Center, located at 1901 Cement County Rd.
According to a news release, the event will consist of guest speakers including representatives from the Amarillo Fire Department and the Amarillo Police Department. Gold Star Families will also be recognized, as well as area first responders. Texas Panhandle residents are not strangers when it comes to wildfires, tornadoes and other natural disasters, which is why, as a community we are joined together and committed to being prepared, the release read. The people of the Texas Panhandle have worked together in raising the funds for the Lions Alert program, which has received a matching grant from the Lions Club International Foundation, and we are within $28,000
