Sweden clinch women’s relay IBU World Cup crown with Nové Město win Thursday, 4 March 2021 Sweden captured the women’s International Biathlon Union (IBU) World Cup relay crystal globe after winning the sixth and final event of the season in Nové Město na Moravě in the Czech Republic. Elvira Öberg clinched victory in the women’s 4x6-kilometre relay when she sprinted up the last hill to pass Belarus’ Elena Kruchinkina. The 25-year-old and her Swedish team mates Mona Brorsson, Hanna Öberg and Linn Persson finished in a time of 1 hour 3min 26.6sec using six spare rounds. I am so tired, it was so hard on the final lap, said Elvira Öberg.

Germany triumph in women s relay event at IBU World Cup in Oberhof Saturday, 16 January 2021 Franziska Preuss produced an impressive final leg to help secure victory for Germany in the women’s 4x6 kilometre relay event at the International Biathlon Union (IBU) World Cup in Oberhof. The German team of Vanessa Hinz, Janina Hettich, Denise Herrmann and Preuss had battled Belarus during the competition. Iryna Kryuko and Dzinara Alimbekava had kept Belarus in contention in the first two legs of the race, before a superb effort from Hanna Sola saw her hand over to Elena Kuchinkina in the lead. Kuchinkina was unable to hold off the challenge of Preuss in the final leg of the competition.
