Houston softball closed out the regular season splitting a four-game weekend series against Tulsa to move to 17-32 heading into the American Athletic Conference tournament.
UH split the series opening doubleheader Friday, taking the first game 9-5 followed by a comeback effort falling short to drop the day’s second game 5-3 in extra innings. The Cougars responded Saturday with a 6-3 walk-off victory before dropping the series finale 3-2.

Houston softball hit the road to Memphis for a pair of doubleheaders over the weekend against the Tigers in which the two teams split.
On Friday, UH took the first game 7-6 and dropped the second 12-3. The Cougars bounced back on Saturday to win the third 7-2, marking the program’s 700th career victory, but fell in the series finale 3-0.

Friday
The Cougars came out swinging in the series opener, tallying three hits highlighted by a two-run single from junior right fielder Bethany Busch to put UH up after half an inning of play.

The East Carolina University softball team (10-21, 1-7 American Athletic Conference) will have a four-game series against the University of Houston Cougars (10-26, 1-11 AAC) from April 16 through April 18 in Houston, Texas.
The Pirates recently suffered a loss against the No. 23 University of Central Florida Golden Knights (29-9, 9-3 AAC) on April 11 by a score of 8-0 at Max R. Joyner Family Stadium in Greenville, North Carolina.
In that game, senior outfielder Olivia Narron recorded one hit to go along with two putouts in the field and she was walked once in the loss to the Golden Knights.
In the matchup history between ECU and Houston, the Cougars hold the advantage all-time as they are up 33-16 in the series.
