Woman seriously injured in crash
ELLSWORTH
A Stonington woman was airlifted to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center with serious injuries Sunday after her sport utility vehicle left the road and struck a tree head-on while traveling on Washington Junction Road in Hancock, Hancock County Sheriff’s Deputy Zach Allen reported.
Courtney Moon, 23, was traveling east in a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe, Allen said. First responders had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate her from the SUV, according to police.
Moon was listed in good condition Tuesday at EMMC, according to a hospital spokesperson.
“The case is still under investigation,” Allen said.
