– A San Luis Obispo County jury found Grover Beach resident Jeremiah Leo Hernandez, 43, guilty of aggravated mayhem and assault with a knife involving a single victim. Both crimes are violent felonies under California’s “Three Strikes” law.
– At an earlier evidentiary hearing, San Luis Obispo County Superior Court Judge Jacquelyn H. Duffy heard evidence that Robert Garay (30), Gabriel Garay (23), and Nathaniel Jara (24) were in a vehicle driven by Jara on April 2, 2019, when they came upon Daniel Fuentes who was riding his bicycle. When all three defendants got out of their vehicle, Robert Garay fired a handgun at Fuentes, striking him twice in the back, killing Daniel Fuentes.
– San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow announced this week that Robert Joseph Garay, 30, Gabriel Luis Garay 23, and Nathaniel Alexander Jara, 24, have entered guilty pleas related to the April 2, 2019, shooting death of Daniel Fuentes, 41, of Arroyo Grande.
