The Mesa City Council voted to approve a measure Monday night to turn a hotel into a transitional housing facility for those experiencing homelessness.
Neighborhood sentiment doesn’t appear too favorable toward Mesa officials’ plan to but a hotel for $7.4 million to house people in its Off the Streets Program.
Mesa Parks and Recreation Department officials plan to reclaim downtown parks for families who have increasingly stayed away from some of them because of rising vandalism, homelessness and illegal activity.
