According to President Cyril Ramaphosa, South Africa is a reference point for the world on issues of human rights and this prompted the State to approach the International Court of Justice.
American law professor, Francis Boyle, believes South Africa is well-poised to at least get the court to agree to provisional measures which will be presented at a hearing in The Hague on Thursday to force Israel to stop military operations in Gaza.
Justice Minister Ronald Lamola has told Parliament that the group, which will complete its prosecutorial training this month can’t be employed by the NPA this year because there’s no money to pay them.
