The mastermind accused of orchestrating the “village of death murders”, where 11 elderly people were murdered by having their throats slit, has been accused of collecting the blood drained from his victims for muthi. This is according to investigating officer Captain Lindile Sigcu of the provincial organised crime unit, who testified at the bail application of 68-year-old Gcinumthetho Pakamisa last week.

Four people, among them three elderly citizens, were found butchered to death in their homes in Zangqokweni locality in Lady Frere, Eastern Cape police said on Tuesday.
The killings happened on Monday.
“According to information police were summoned to the home of a 44-year-old woman at about 4am. Upon arrival, it was established that the woman had stab wounds. While police were still at the scene they were informed of another woman, 72, who was also found dead in her house,” said Brig Tembinkosi Kinana.

Cape Town - The provincial police commissioner of the Eastern Cape, Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga will be visiting the homes of the four women who were all found murdered in their homes in Lady Frere on Wednesday.
In a statement, provincial police spokesperson Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana said the visit from the commissioner was not only to offer condolences and support to the families, but also a fact-finding mission to what could possibly have led to the “shocking and callous” murders of the women.
According to Kinana, on Tuesday police received information at 4am regarding the body of a 44-year-old woman. Upon inspection of the body, police officers found that the woman had sustained stab wounds.

Police have launched a manhunt after four people three women and a man were mysteriously killed in their homes at Zangqokweni locality, Ndonga administrative area, in Cacadu; formerly known as Lady Frere.
Eastern Cape police spokesperson Brigadier Tembi Kinana said that at about 4am on Monday morning police were dispatched to a home where a 44-year-old woman, who had sustained stab wounds, had been found dead.
