“And even on the first recordings, it said ‘New Yardbirds’ on the box because I didn’t want anybody to know what the name of the band was until we really officially unveiled it. And [the first album] was it.”
Some fans have suggested it was actually John Entwistle who came up with the name, while others have credited Chris who encouraged the new name to stop the use of The New Yardbirds.
However, the spelling, or misspelling as the case may be, came from the band’s manager, Peter Grant.
Legend has it he thought the ‘a’ in ‘lead’ would be unfamiliar for many and would make them mispronounce the name of the band.
Despite this ending their romantic relationship, it did not end their friendship.
She said in an unearthed interview: “It took a long while for me to really fall in love with this man but once there, I could never turn away from him.
“His pain became my pain, his joy became my joy.
“I was able to look inside almost another human being and what I saw was a treasure trove of beauty.

Sam said of this meeting: “I met Barbara Broccoli and [Casino Royale director] Martin Campbell. I did a scene and they had the gun from The Man with the Golden Gun on the table and I remember thinking, ‘Wow, this is incredible’.

Jo Mills, who was married to Sir Tom’s manager Gordon, suggested she was pushed out of public life for the sake of Sir Tom’s career.
She told the MailOnline: “I think from the very beginning, Linda was made to feel as if she mustn’t exist in his life.
