Seconds. It looks like a war zone. Are they watching this. Riots rage in baltimore. Chaos following the funeral of freddie gray looters in businesses. 15 officers were injured and more than 200 people were arrested. This is a Police Shield that was broken because of all of the rocks. The National Guard rolled into the city overnight after the governor declared a state of emergency. The curfew takes effect. I am simply p were not going to call them thugs. Theyre cowards. Theyre trying to find more survivors in nepal. The death toll tops 5,000. They expect that to rise. A russian spacecraft on a supply mission to the space station had a serious problem as it began spinning in orbit. Wildfires threaten a suburban neighborhood. A train was off the track. People have been lining up at the Supreme Court to hear the argument. The near disaster in Washington State when the doors opened, illegally. All that. Point. We canceled leave for all our Police Officers so theyre deployed on the stroets as we speak. Each shift is fully staffed. We called in outside resources from all over the state of maryland to give us an assist here. Were not going to tolerate this. Our priorities right now is to restore order in the city. Our priorities right now is officer safety and the safety of the community. Thank you. Council president. Good evening. Im deeply saddened by whats taking place in the great city of baltimore. This reminds me of 1968 when the riots took place through the assassination of dr. Martin luther king where people were destroying their own stores and properties in their own community. This is unacceptable. This is not what freddie grays family wanted. They asked there be no protests marches, or anything of that nature today. The organizers of those marches are not participating in whats taking place today. As the mayor has stated these are thugs who are seizing upon an opportunity to s
Thousands gathering. To become one voice. One day after six officers are charged with the death of a man in their custody. Chance of no justice no peace. Once again echoing through the streets of baltimore tonight. Protesters say the charges filed against the Six Police Officers in the death of freddy gray is a good step. John terret live in baltimore with more, good evening john. Good evening to you del. Well it was a warm and sunny may the 2nd in baltimore today. They came and they rallied. But more of that in just a second. First of all the authorities here have held a news conference. The issue of when will the 10 00 p. M. Adult curfew come to an end . Now linda singh is the head of Maryland National guard. She is one of three key African Americans involved in the issue the other being the mayor and linda singh says the curfew will end eventually but baltimorens will have to be patient. We live and work here. I reiterate that. We will go back to our armories and put our stuff back
