Gov. Ron DeSantis is intending to send Florida law enforcement officers to Texas to assist with border control with a foreign country, as though they don t have jobs in Florida. Each state indicates that the other will pay for this exercise. Sound familiar?
There is no clearly defined mission. There has been no training. There is no stated chain of command for these troops. If there is a misstep by Florida troops that causes an international incident, does Gov. DeSantis plan to reinstate the draft and declare war on a foreign country?
This is clearly an attempt at resume building for his presidential bid. He needs to stick to the job he already has.
