The Town of Stony Plain is moving forward with its efforts to make the community more fiscally sustainable.
During the May 3 regular council meeting, council members voted to accept two new strategies for information. Phase 2 of the Fiscal Sustainability Framework (FSF) will review ‘Service Levels’ and ‘Asset Management,’ and how they contribute to fiscal sustainability in Stony Plain.

When completed in September 2021, the FSF will provide the highest level of financial guidance for the Town by setting out financial principles, strategies and processes. This ensures a common understanding of financial strategies and considerations and will interact with and strengthen the financial policies already in place.

The Town of Stony Plain is updating their Council Compensation and Expenses Policy.
The Stony Plain Council Remuneration Committee presented a recommendation to update the policy during the Town’s Jan. 25 council meeting. The committee is made up of community members who provide objective recommendations on the compensation of Council members based on a set Terms of Reference every four years. These recommendations are taken into consideration for use in the first year of the following Council term.
