A total of £1,375,000 worth of funding has been made available for small businesses to boost apprenticeship activity after a new pledge from a regional co-operative. Southern Co-op has become the latest organisation to support the Solent Apprenticeship Hub’s ‘Transfer to Transform’ initiative. The scheme encourages large employers to pledge their unspent levy funds to cover the costs of apprenticeship training for smaller businesses. Southern Co-op has become the eighth largest supporter of the scheme, pledging £50,000 to the initiative, joining employers such as B&Q, Utilita, ExxonMobil and Coopervision.
