Standing still, surrounded by over a thousand yellow hearts, the Letizi family looked at their loved one s name, yearning to see him just one more time.  It s just unbelievable to see his name there, said Linda Letizi.  The family lost their beloved father and husband, Paul, to coronavirus in October of 2020. Vigil remembering COVID-19 victims held in Wilkes-Barre

Courthouse vigil memorializes COVID-19 dead in Luzerne County

WILKES-BARRE — Dozens of people in a crowd of well over 100 held up photos of the loved ones they lost to COVID-19 at a candlelight vigil Saturday on the Luzerne County Courthouse south lawn. Kim Letizi and Trish Zimmerman, who both lost their fathers to the virus, organized the event with assistance from Luzerne County Manager David Pedri and county staff. While planning the event, Pedri said, Letizi told him she wanted to “put a name … to put a face to the victims of COVID. Too long are they just numbers. These are our community, these are our neighbors, these are our mothers, our fathers, our friends.”
