Blood drive Friday in Rogers City With the cooperation of the Rogers City High School’s Key Club and the Kiwanis Club, Versiti Blood Center of Michigan will host a blood drive in Rogers City on Friday. For the upcoming March meeting, book club members are encouraged to read a book of their choice by one of these authors.

Alpena Bridge Club results announced Alpena Bridge Club results for this week have been announced. The team of Eve Phillips and Dale Middleditch won first place. New Year s Honours: OBE awarded to former Blackburn with Darwen children s services leader Linda Clegg

A FORMER head of children s services at Blackburn with Darwen Council has been honoured with an OBE. Linda Clegg, who is now chair of the St Helens Children s Improvement Board and a Department of Education improvement partner, received the award as part of the Queen s New Year Honours list. The award was given thanks to Ms Clegg s years of dedication to children s services in both Blackburn with Darwen and St Helens which has made a real difference to the lives of children and their families across both boroughs. For Blackburn with Darwen Council chief executive Harry Catherall who worked closely with Ms Clegg, said: “I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Linda at Blackburn with Darwen Council and more recently at St Helen’s Council. Children’s social care is a very demanding.

St Helens Council has sent congratulations to Linda Clegg, who has been awarded the OBE A PROMINENT figure in the improvement of children’s services in St Helens has been recognised in the Queen’s New Year Honours list. Linda Clegg, chair of the St Helens Children’s Improvement Board, and the St Helens DfE Improvement partner has been awarded an OBE for her services to children’s services. She has a wealth of experience in supporting children and prior to her current role, served as the director of children’s services at Blackburn with Darwen Council. The award was given due to Ms Clegg s years of dedication to children s services in both Blackburn with Darwen and St Helens.
