The second book, by Elizabeth Smith brownstein, an experienced washington journalist, talks about what is today called president lincolns cottage. It was the other white house for lincoln and mary lincoln during three of the summers that they were occupying the white house the rest of the year. A third is carl adams, who has just moved to the washington, d. C. Area from illinois, where he did Landmark Research on the case of a young slave named nance or nancy, who was freed as the result of a lawsuit filed by Abraham Lincoln
