The Executive Yuan on Thursday approved a draft amendment to a foreign talent act, in the hope that more friendly regulations would attract more foreign professionals to the country.
The draft amendment to the Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals (外國專業人才延攬及僱用法), which was enacted in 2018, could “enable foreign professionals to come to Taiwan and stay here for good,” Executive Yuan spokesman Lo Ping-cheng (羅秉成) said at a weekly news briefing.
The proposed amendment would also allow “foreign special professionals” to enjoy greater tax concessions, the National Development Council said.

Taipei, April 15 (CNA) The Cabinet on Thursday approved a draft amendment to a foreign talent act, in the hope that more friendly regulations governing foreign professionals in the country will attract more such talent.
The draft amendment to the Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals, which was enacted in 2018, could enable foreign professionals to come to Taiwan and stay here for good, said Cabinet spokesman Lo Ping-cheng (羅秉成) in a weekly press briefing.
The National Development Council (NDC) explained that the draft amendment would also allow foreign special professionals to enjoy greater tax concessions.

The National Development Council (NDC) on Monday unveiled a four-year plan focusing on several goals, including nurturing a digital talent pool.
Other goals would involve improving the nation’s bilingual education and expanding the efforts to hire international talent, the council said.
The measures would be aimed at promoting Taiwan’s competitiveness and ensuring that it plays a critical role in the dynamic restructuring of the global supply chain, it said.

Taipei, Feb. 22 (CNA) The Cabinet-level National Development Council (NDC) unveiled a four-year plan Monday focusing on several goals, including the nurturing of Taiwan s digital talent pool.
The other focal points, the NDC said, will be improving Taiwan s bilingual education and expanding efforts to hire talent internationally.
