The case of a 14-year-old girl arrested in connection with the assault on schoolgirl Lufuno Mavhunga has been postponed to Thursday.
The teenager, who made her first court appearance on Friday, appeared again in the Thohoyandou children’s magistrate’s court on Tuesday for her bail application.
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson in Limpopo Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi said the matter will be rolled over for a new presiding officer.

DEPUTY Minister in the Presidency Thembi Siweya said the only way to honour Lufuno Mavhunga was to correct all wrongdoings that some pupils of Mbilwi Secondary School were seen doing in the video that’s been circulating on social media since Monday, 12 April.
Siweya delivered an eulogy in Tshirenzheni Village on Saturday, 17 April during an emotional funeral of the grade 10 pupil, who committed suicide soon after the video of her being attacked by a fellow pupil went viral on social media.

Durban - Double murder accused Rameez Patel was unable to explain why the jacket he wore, on the day his wife was killed, was moved.
Patel was testifying in the Limpopo High Court, in Polokwane, where he is on trial for the murder of his 28-year-old wife Fatima, the mother of his three children.
She was shot in the face, while in their rented Nirvana apartment, in Polokwane, in April 2015. Her skull and cheekbones were shattered as a result. She was also strangled and her jaw had dislocated.
Patel, a cage fighter-cum businessman, has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge. He blamed the murder on an intruder, who he said entered their home.

The rapist, Solly Surprise Ntlwane, overpowered his victim, a traditional healer, after she showed him kindness and provided him with a place to stay for a night.
