THE SABC says it takes allegations of payola seriously and artists with evidence should come forward.
This comes after gatvol artists demonstrated outside the broadcaster’s office in Auckland Park, Joburg, on Wednesday 10 March, demanding an end to the practice. They claimed that artists were expected to pay between R10 000 and R100 000 for their music to be played.
Metro FM and Ukhozi FM were among the stations allegations were made against.
