Search By Live95 News Team Over €45,000 in funding has been approved for flood mitigation works in Co. Limerick.
It follows extensive flooding in Kilmallock last summer with damage to a number of properties and roads in the affected area.
This funding granted by the Office of Public Works will see the replacement of existing concrete pipe culverts and the construction of a drainage channel at Bresheen South in the Co. Limerick town.
Minister for the OPW, Limerick s Patrick O Donovan said “The funding is being provided by the OPW to Limerick City and County Council in response to flooding that happened in the South Limerick area during the summer last year. I know the issues caused by flood only too well and I know the difficulty that it causes. As the Minister in charge of the Office of Public Works I am committed to working as hard as I can to ensure I get the most money for schemes like this all over the country.
