There will be no "RUSH LIMBAUGH DAY" in MISSOURI after all, at least not now, after the declaration of the late PREMIERE NETWORKS talk host s birthday (JANUARY 12th) in his honor was quietly dropped from a bill passed by the state legislature on the last day of the current session, reports the ST. ‘Rush Limbaugh Day’ in Missouri is not to be Brian Niemietz
A day meant to honor the late right-wing radio show host Rush Limbaugh was left out of a bill in Missouri on the final day of the state’s legislature, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Rush Limbaugh Day would have taken place every Jan. 12, Limbaugh’s birthday, had the proposal passed. The 70-year-old pundit died in February after a long battle with lung cancer. He had been awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by then-President Donald Trump after announcing his diagnosis a year earlier.
The Post-Dispatch reports the proposed holiday was popular among state Republicans, but less so with Democrats, of whom Limbaugh wasn’t a big fan either. His fiery conservative rhetoric was often criticized as inaccurate and bigoted by moderates and liberals. Many conservatives praised him as a trailblazer.

We can’t believe it either, but House and Senate negotiators agreed Wednesday to spend $3.6 million to hire 53 additional lawyers for the trial division of the Missouri State Public Defender office. They will join 331 trial lawyers already in the office.
If the full legislature passes the measure, and Gov. Mike Parson signs it, Missouri will finally climb out of the unconstitutional rut that has left thousands of defendants without timely, adequate representation in court. “It’s what we need,” said Mary Fox, director of the MSPD.

Co0-host Jayar Jackson also a Missouri native introduced the story, and read a statement from a Missouri Republican lodging Limbaugh for “speaking boldly” and “inspiring people,” then cracked that Limbaugh had inspired “The downtrodden white racists of the world.”
