Mr Terry Xu impugned the integrity, impartiality and propriety of the courts by reproducing a letter that alleged certain people in Singapore were persecuted for political reasons, says a High Court judge.
SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/Asia News Network): Chief editor of sociopolitical website The Online Citizen (TOC) Terry Xu has been fined S$18,000 for contempt of court for reposting an open letter by an Australian citizen who questioned the equity of Singapore’s justice system.
The Straits Time publisher admitted to inflating circulation figures, in some cases printing newspapers that were counted and then destroyed. SPH is also getting SG$900 million from the government over the next 5 years.
